Again on Antiquity in the cinema. Antiquity and the allegories of the present.
Main Article Content
Abstract
The characters and stories of antiquity constitute an immense reservoir from which artistic and cultural expressions of later ages draw unceasingly. The analysis of the modes of selection and forms of renarration of the ancient constitute an essential tool for understanding the relationship between the ancient and the present, as well as a privileged form of investigation of the ancient and the present in themselves. In this study, the forms of cinematographic renarration of the figure of Scipio Africanus in the works of C. Gallone and L. Magni are analysed in particular.
