https://www.otium.unipg.it/otium <p><em>Otium</em> <small>(E-ISSN 2532-0335) </small>è una Rivista di classe A <em>peer-review </em>dedicata alla riflessione sui meccanismi di funzionamento della cultura del mondo antico. Il modo di pensare, di immaginare, di sentire, di sviluppare una produzione simbolica sono ciò che vorremmo fosse al centro degli studi ospitati nella rivista.</p> <p>Non vi è dunque un settore particolare della produzione artistica, materiale e letteraria dell’antichità a cui <em>Otium</em> sia specificamente dedicata, così come non v’è un’attenzione privilegiata per qualcuno dei possibili approcci dell’archeologia contemporanea, quanto piuttosto l’intenzione e lo sforzo della ricerca di nessi e connessioni, della possibilità di costruire una visione complessa dell’antichità che faccia della relazione tra aspetti diversi il suo punto focale.</p> <p> </p> Dipartimento di lettere - lingue, letterature e civilta' antiche e moderne - Università degli Studi di Perugia it-IT O T I V M 2532-0335 https://www.otium.unipg.it/otium/article/view/116 <p>Cereals manufacture and the production and consumption of bread have always been important cultural indicators in the analysis of ancient Mediterranean communities. The focus of this paper is the analysis of elements related to bread-making in Roman-age Sardinia, with specific attention to the fictile ovens identified in the scientific bibliography by the terms <em>tabouna</em> and <em>tannur</em>. The aim is to outline persistences and innovations in the transition from Punic to Roman times, through a bibliographic <em>excursus</em> of sites in the western Mediterranean and using as a comparison the case study of the stratigraphic contexts of some sectors of Nora, a Roman <em>municipium</em> in southern Sardinia.</p> Emiliano Cruccas Copyright (c) 2024 O T I V M 2024-02-29 2024-02-29 15 10.5281/zenodo.10718925 https://www.otium.unipg.it/otium/article/view/117 <p>Literary sources, historiography and post-antique fascinations underlie the eclectic image we know of the emperor Hadrian and his cultural policy. This peculiar ambiguity, seldom recognised in monumental traces, also deserves to be analysed in relation to archaeological and architectural evidence.
